Becoming Mrs. Hallows

My first year attending Southern Utah University was spent just like any typical college freshman. I was working hard to get decent grades, have a social life, and get adequate amounts of sleep. Amongst all of the craziness, I decided to rush for the sorority Alpha Phi. My friend Alayna had done a lot of convincing in order to ensure me that I would not regret this decision. Even mere aquaintances know that I am shy, so I am sure it does not come to a surprise that rushing for a huge sorority was drastically out of my comfort zone.   Despite the fact that the sorority life was not really my thing, it did bring in some awesome perks.
Once becoming a new pledge of Alpha phi, we were delegated "Ivy Linkers." This is basically like an assigned friend. Their job is to make you feel accepted into the sorority by going out of their way to hang out with you. I got a text from a girl I had yet to know, asking if I wanted to go to Starbucks. In my continuous pursuit to become more outgoing, I accepted my new sister's invitation. This was how I met Candice. Between casual conversation and sipping on a Strawberry Cream frappuccino, I had made a new friend. Candice and I became inseparable. With her bubbly and approachable nature, we fit together like two puzzle pieces. As Candice and I grew closer, she introduced me to her super hot older brother. From there, everything was history haha… Very cliche, I know.
For me and Carl's first date, we went hot tubbing. Yet another thing far out of my comfort zone! Who wants to go hot tubbing during the dead of winter with pasty white skin?! Definitely not me… never the less, I still went. Although Carl is nothing like his sister Candice, they did have one similarity. He is also very easy to talk to. We spent time together every waking second and I felt like I knew him better than anyone.  Only three months after dating, we were engaged. He proposed after a delicious dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, The Garden House. He had decorated the hot tub room with rose petals and floating candles that spelled out "Marry Me." It was so sweet.
Most people thought I was crazy and they did not mind giving me their two cents. It honestly got kind of annoying at times. I knew that I was making the right choice and I stand strong with that decision still today. I firmly believe that when two people are working together to create worthy goals, Heavenly Father will not let them down. We were engaged for six months and married November 16th of last year in the Las Vegas temple. It was by far one of the best days of my life. I know that through love, faith, and daily endeavor, our marriage will last throughout the eternities. I am so incredibly thankful that I have become Mrs. Hallows.
